In
October 2002, the State of California launched a new
campaign aimed at informing the public of the State's
Safely Surrendered Baby law. The campaign, entitled
“No Shame, No Blame, No Names” is designed to raise awareness about the law and to let
parents who may be inclined to harm or abandon their
newborns know that there is a safe alternative. The
County of Los Angeles is conducting its own
public information campaign. Sponsored by First 5 LA
(formerly the Proposition 10 Commission) and the
County of Los Angeles, this campaign has been
coordinated with the statewide campaign and provides
key information on the law to women, their families
and communities.

information campaign, contact Kristina Hajjar, Los

The
County campaign includes English and Spanish language
posters, brochures, and wallet cards. In addition, a
transit ad campaign was conducted Countywide in Summer
2003. The
campaign also includes the universal Safe
Surrender logo developed by the County of Los
Angeles in collaboration with the Children’s
Planning Council and the State Departments of Social
Services (DCSS).
